Sweden's THE HELLACOPTERS ? the band fronted by former ENTOMBED drummer Nicke Andersson (on guitar/vocals) ? has issued the following update:
"After nearly thirteen years as THE HELLACOPTERS we're now sad to tell you that we are breaking up. The reasons behind this very difficult decision are many and too personal to go into here.
"Playing in a rock and roll band isn't always a walk in the park, but thanks to all of you who rocked out with us at sweaty clubs, rainy festivals or at home by the stereo throughout the years, it's been a fantastic trip. We'll never forget your support.
"We recently finished mixing our seventh and last studio album and it'll be released early next year, according to initial plans. We feel like we wanna say one last goodbye to you and throw in the towel with a bang, so we're aiming to do a farewell tour through Europe and Scandinavia sometime in the spring. So you're not getting rid of us just yet."
THE HELLACOPTERS' new album was once again produced by Chips Kiesby (THE NOMADS, SATOR, THE TURPENTINES). Mixing duties were handled by Henryk Lipp.
The band released a vinyl version of its new single, "The Same Lame Story", on August 10 via Bootleg Booze Records. The exclusive b-side is a cover of ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN's "It's All Moving Faster". The single is limited to 1,000 copies and is available on transparent red vinyl with black splatter. 200 copies come in a screenprinted cardboard box with an exclusive sticker only available to Bootleg Booze vinyl club members.
THE HELLACOPTERS' last album, "Rock & Roll Is Dead", was released in the U.S. in February 2006 via Liquor and Poker Music. The American version of the CD contained two bonus tracks not included on any other version of the recording, as well as bonus video clips for the singles "Everything's on T.V." (available for viewing below) and "I'm in the Band"."
Resumiendo, que se separan, sacarán disco para principios de año y harán gira por Escandinavia y el resto de Europa para primavera.

me acabo de acordar de las palabras de un viejo amigo...Cuando empezaba a estudiar en Valencia (99, creo) tenía un amigo 6 años mayor q yo q le encataba el grupo, yo siempre decía q no me gustaba mucho por verles muy normalitos (época numetalera y Marilyn Manseana-Rob zombiana y demás, junto a la profunda España más calimochera me eclipsaban). Total, que el me dijo que cuando creciera más que seguro que acabaría gustandome y lo apreciaría....Por ese motivo creo que nunca me ha dado por escucharle mucho (cabezón que es uno)...pero que razón tenía el cabrón...
yo ya les vi hace un año un domingo en santana, me dejaron algo frio, siempre me molaron mas sus primeros discos con un toke kizas mas punkrockero la epoca de dregen. Mis preferidos son Supershitty To The Max, grande rock, o el ultimo ke mas me gusto el high visibility ke es una obra maestra, aun asi si alguien se le ocurre poner un dia orden de nuevo en los clasicos del rock seguramente una banda como hellacopters deba de estar entre ellos.
