¿Stoner pop? Me ha pareceido interesante este grupo italiano, Verdana. Recuerdan mucho a QOTSA, aunque tienen canciones que tiran hacia terrenos más tranquilos.

Hace bastante que no escuchaba Verdena, casi desde el 2005 que salió el Ballate Per Piccole Iene de Afterhours. Recuerdo que me gustó el disco de Afterhours y me puse a investigar y tenía un EP compartido con Verdana. Y entre una cosa y otra fueron años de darle bastante al rock alternativo italiano.

Il Teatro degli Orrori - Scende la notte (Estos, aunque más actuales, están rondando la frontera entre el rock alternativo y el metal. Ese bajo es muy crossover).

Casi todos siguen en activo y es algo de valorar porque, salvo el último, todos nacieron a principio de los noventa, poco más o menos. En España, salvo Planetas y Lajartija Nick, el resto de grupos de los noventa que pudieron encuadrarse en el rock alternativo han muerto sin mayor gloria.

Y me resulta imposible hablar de música italiana reciente sin irnos un pelín atrás. En el ochenta y cinco CCCP sacaron este pedazo de canción post-punk, una fina línea donde se cruzan con The Smiths o Joy Divison. Curiosos, y temazo que habría que pinchar más a menudo. Ah, y ni que decir que su música fue catalogada como "punk filosoviético", jeje.

Me acabo de enamorar perdidamente. The Coathangers es un grupo de chicas perdidas en la encrucijada entre el post-punk, el garage, bastante de rrriot girl y unos arreglos en los teclados muy en la onda de Messer Chups.
